Magneto Maintenance Best Practices Every Site Should Follow
No matter what platform you use for your website, keeping it regularly maintained is very important. However, if you have a Magento website, this becomes even more important, since most Magento websites are used for eCommerce websites.
You need to make sure that your website is working properly for your customers, but also safe for them to make purchases on. Here are a few things you can do to maintain your Magento website.
Always Make Sure the Site is Responding Properly
This check should be done often. Ideally, you want to go through and look at your website from a customer’s point of view at least a few times each month, if not weekly. You want to make sure every part of the website responds to their needs properly. Plus, you want to make sure everything loads quickly so they are not stuck at any point during the purchase process. Speed up the processes of your website if you notice them performing slowly so you do not lose customers. Plus, fix any errors you come across immediately. That way, your customers are getting a great experience and are more likely to return.
Make Sure All Plugins Are Up to Date
Your website likely makes use of several plugins to ensure you and your users get the experience you expect. It is your job to make sure that each of those plugins are up to date constantly. There are always new updates coming out for these plugins. That is so they remain highly compatible with both Magento and with other plugins. You need to go through often and ensure these plugins are up to date. Be careful and read up on each plugin before upgrading to ensure it will remain compatible before you upgrade. That way, you can avoid crashing your website and requiring a restore.
Speaking of Restorations …
Another very important maintenance step is to make sure that you always have an up to date restoration. If something ever happens to your site, you want to be able to restore it with something that was working as fully as possible. Ideally, you want to run a restore on a daily basis. That way, if something fails today, you can roll your website back only one day and lose as little information as possible.
Do you know how to go through and perform each of these maintenance steps? If not, don’t worry. You can turn to the pros here at North Texas Web Design and we can make sure your Magento site is always functional for when your customers come to buy.

See what some of our customers say about us!
We have had the great pleasure of working with Mike McLeland for a number of years now. The quality of our website is fabulous. The true test is of course, does it make the potential clients want to take the time to inquire about our services? It absolutely does this. He created it so that it is easy for that potential client to decide quickly and with ease that they want to know more about us and our services. This is rare because a lot of websites in our industry in particular are extremely hard to move around once you have arrived.Additionally, Mike has a rare quality as a Web Designer. He understands who he can send an email filled with technical terms to and who he shouldn’t. The owner of our company receives the technical emails and I get the total opposite. This makes it so much easier for us to work with him.Lastly, his level of care is, ” Off the Charts!” There I no other way to describe it.I hope a lot of other businesses use his services.

Mike McLeland at Plano Web Design helped our company build our website many years ago. Not only did he do an exceptional job of guiding us on what works well when designing a website, but has continued to provide excellent advise and service over the years. He always responds immediately to any questions or needs that we have and is always exceptionally helpful with ideas and suggestions.

The most important thing these days is SERVICE…period. That is, a company provides it, or they don’t! Now don’t get taken like we all have, there are many levels of service from basically nothing (“are you sure you have the device plugged IN and turned ON?” or “I can’t understand what you are saying, can you speak English? or do you even know how to spell WEB PAGE?….totally useless service) to placing the service call, having a human answer the phone that can speak and understand English without a “out on the edge” accent and expeditiously remediate the problem! One that is with you the entire way. In my opinion PWD/NTWD provides the highest level.I have been with NTWD for about 5 years with several Web Sites and numerous email accounts and yes I did have a glitsh, well more it was a change of server. I was on the phone with them and the problem was resolved, just like that! It wasn’t really a problem but a change in configuration, even better. The next most important thing is quality. NTWD provides top quality work. Basically anyone can build a web page or host data or email. Mike at NTWD delivers the best that is possible, always there and only a phone call away….if you happen to need help. SECURITY????? That is a big concern and should be of everyone! I am totally concerned about security but not with my NTWD services. I know they are covered, Mike keeps up with technology.I have a choice and so do you. You want to have a strong and SAFE site and service? Do not go any further, simply go to NTWD. As an overall package (design and service), there is none better.Dang I forgot to mention money, fees, skins, bucks, green backs, dough, bread….etc. You want a strong quality product (and service) for a very reasonable price……. The work is done for you. Go to NTWD. Don’t go anywhere else. If you already have, get your tail to NTWD as soon as you can.
