Ready or Not, the New Year is Here!  Is Your Website Ready?

Ready or Not, the New Year is Here! Is Your Website Ready? With more and more consumers doing their shopping online, having a great website has never been more important.  But more than just having the website, how it looks, and keeping it up-to-date are critical.  When was the last time you really took a look at your company’s website?  Here are a few tips on how to make sure your website is ready to draw customers in and keep them there in 2017.

Update Your Photos

The New Year is the perfect time to change out the photos on your company’s homepage, especially if the current ones have been there for a few months.  New photos can be a big draw for customers, drawing them in and making them think that you have a new product to offer.

Don’t forget about the photos on your other pages as well.  Get rid of old, irrelevant photos, particularly of products that are outdated or that you don’t sell anymore.  And be sure to take a look at your company team photos, giving credit to anyone new who has joined you.

Read and Edit as Necessary

This might seem like an unnecessary tip, but reading and editing your site is important.  There are occasional spelling errors that go unnoticed by you, but your customers will pick up on them.  Check for dates (including your copyright), any information that is no longer relevant.  Test all of your links to make sure they take you where they are supposed to go.  Send an email to the address on the site as well, to make sure that it works.  If your customers have questions, you’ll want them to be able to reach you.

Be Found

Paying close attention to SEO is imperative if you want new customers to be able to find you on a web search.  The better your SEO, the better chance you have of being listed at the top of the results, and above your competition.

Go Mobile

More and more people are using their mobile devices to search for what they need.  If you haven’t already, make sure your website is mobile-friendly, that way, customers can find you on the go.

Get Social

Not only are people using their mobile devices for everything, they are all over social media.  Get your company involved in these sites and interact with your customers.  Social media is also a great way for you to get to understand your products through the ways your customers use them.

Giving your website a new look, and taking the extra time to ensure it looks neat, clean and easily navigated will show your customers that you care about your company.  This little bit of work now will help to ensure customers keep coming in the New Year and beyond!
